YOU CAN HELP!!!!

As scrappers, one of the most important things we deal with on a daily basis are memories. Family memories, memories of loved ones, memories of holidays, birthdays, christenings, bbq’s and days at the beach. These families in Victoria have got no tangible evidence of their lives left. No family photos. No happy snaps. You can replace a fridge, but you can’t replace years of momentos.
In order to help out these family begin to put their lives back together I have started a scrapbooking plan - called “MEMORY GIFTS”.
Quite simply, I ask each and every one of you who read this blog to donate a 12 x 12inch almost completed scrapbook LO to the “Memory Gifts” program. Each page will be sent to me. I will collect them and bind them, then hand them over to the head of Pastoral Care for the Victorian Catholic Education Office, Maria Kirkwood in Melbourne. It will not be just Catholic families benefiting, it will be anyone who needs it.
Each family devastated by fire will be (in time) given album pages to help them begin their memories again. Those families can then approach their own families for copies of photos to put into the albums, or simply start putting in fresh memories.
If you think you can help, please lave me a comment and I will reply with my postal address so that you can send on your page. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.
I plan to have these albums finished by the 20th of March - that gives us a month to get cracking and create as many pages as we can!
If you feel you wish to contribute in some other way, please leave Sarah a comment and she will get back to you as soon as I can.
Many thanks on the behalf of the Victorian families who have lost everything.

WE CAN ALL HELP!!!!

Okay well it is almost that time of the year when the sneak peeks of CHA Winter 09 are starting to appear online. Just wondering whether with the current U.S economic state things will slow down in the scrapbooking industry, meaning not so many releases for the year.
Check out Monique Mclean's blog
She spends hours putting up the latest upcoming product releases on her blog. There are some gorgeous MME on there.....

Great photos!!- Weeks theme!

Okay so as scrapbookers, we all use photos. I truly believe that a great photo makes a great Layout. So I have done some net surfing today to spotlight just a few scrappers, who have fantastic photography in their work. This is what I want from you.... Who in the industry, grabs your attention with their photos in their work? Leave a us a comment of who and a link, and we will showcase them on the blog this week...
First Up...

CLAIR BREMNER is a great photographer and her work is always fantastic. Here are two of her layouts.

Okay also a professional photographer, but another example that the photos can just make the page. Gorgeous Charmaine!
Sarah Gladman has an extremely uniqe style. As a qualified art teacher specialising in photography, both her passions are evident in her work. She has a very arty style and will use all meduims on her layouts!
Okay well Kelly Goree would have to be one of my favourite scrapbookers. She has a clean cut style, that makes every photo the focal point of her layouts.

You can view it at http://www.123scrapbook.com.au/gallery/details.php?image_id=1508 over at 123scrapbook.com.au gorgeous girly girl layout though, great pick!

Okay been surfing a little this afternoon and found this layout below in Scrapbook Savvy's Gallery. This gorgeous Layout is by the very talented Renee Dowling. Love the use of the embellishments and how you punched holes on your die cut paper's edge.

Okay I was surfing the web today and looking over at Scraptacular's gallery and I found some gorgeous work from Rachael Scholtz. Rachael has a defined clean cut style that shows a great use of product while keeping the design simple and the focus on her photos. Love your work Rach!

It is the new year!!!

Happy New Year all!!

Let's start this blog off clean and fresh! The purpose of this blog is to post positive comments about great scrappers and their work! The world is full of negativity and it gets all of us down.No-one likes the smack blogs, they are hurtful and not necessary!

I have been on Two Peas this morning and have found a layout uploaded in the past 24 hrs that I really like. Here it is!

I Love Mel Nunn's work, she is clean, crisp and her work is always consistant! Here is a layout she has done for the Pagemaps site for January! I love the use of the Sassafras Lass paper. This range can sometimes be hard to work with.I also love the nagative space in the layout which makes the photos the focal point on the layout.

Do you like working with sketches?

Leave us a comment with a link to a layout that feel deserves some praise and we will post it along with your comment about what you love most!
